Do we really understand?

Translation misinterpretations are often caused by idioms, especially when translating ancient languages. Idioms are phrases that really don't say what they mean, but native speakers clearly understand them. This is an especially important consideration when making a valid translation from ancient languages to modern-day English. For example, an idiom in English would be: "A chip off the old block," meaning an individual that acts or looks like his/her parents.

Meaning: the term is used to describe people who look like their parents.

Acts 20:21 and Romans 10:13 says "all who call in the name of the Lord will be saved," and there are many other passages that convey this idea.

Matthew 7:21 says "not all who call upon Him will be saved." 

Acts 2:29, says "only those the Lord chooses will be saved."

Romans 10:13-17 says "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through hearing the word about Christ." 

  • Gen. 4-26; Gen. 13-4; Gen 12-28, Kings 18:24, Kings 5:11, Psalms 116-4, Joel 2:32, Zech 3:29, etc...  "Not everyone who calls me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do. Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord! will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven."  
The translations above that are highlighted in red are the accurate translations of the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages, originally written approximately two thousand years ago. When translated properly, the passages of scripture above are not contradictory. People in the times the scriptures were written naturally understood the true meaning of these scriptural passages written in their ancient languages. 

So, for modern man, it's important that what's written in the original ancient languages is translated accurately into their own languages, so that an individual seeking the truth and understanding of the scriptures sees an accurate translation, so that the sacraments of organized religion aren't solely relied upon to achieve salvation, and so that these sacraments, many of which have been created by mankind, are not acts that have no meaning to God and Jesus Christ.

Lately, over the last two or three weeks, I have been trying to get an MRI, ordered by my doctor due to an obstructed bile duct in my liver, where the growth of a cancer lesion has closed off the bile duct, causing my digestion to be impaired, and a lot of pain and discomfort day and night that accompanies the condition.  The backlog in getting the MRI, so the doctors can see what they will have to deal with in surgery, has been horrendous, as the administration of these facilities possibly seem to be choosing greed over patient comfort, by not administering prompt services based on the growing demands of the area where these services are supposed to be delivered, and seemingly not really caring that patients have to endure the pain and suffering of delayed procedures not being performed in a timely manner.   In addition, once the MRI had been performed, the physicians and support staff are so backlogged, apparently due to the same assumed greedy administrative management...

The Consequence of Breaking Spritual Laws...

Do you believe in the inerrancy of the Christian Bible? Were it not so, then our belief system would be baseless with respect to acknowledging that God, Jesus Christ, the prospect of everlasting life, etc...actually exists.
